Sarah Cortez, former police officer turned poet, speaks to ACU students at Hart Auditorium. Cortez read several selections from “Cold Blue Steel” a collection of poetry centered on her experiences as a police officer, as well as an excerpt from “Walking Home: Growing Up Hispanic in Houston, Cortez’s spiritual memoir.
